Nocturnal is a photographic essay about light, landscape, and perception. The series is composed of images taken at night, in complete darkness, in a solitary and isolated environment.
Begun in 2019, the project unfolds over successive stays in the native forest on the ocean coast of Rocha, Uruguay.
Through the nocturnal landscape, I seek to evoke an inner reality. The photographs are the result of an intimate experience of connection with nature in the darkness.
In the thicket of the native forest, each image is a form of listening. I am interested in light as a language and the landscape as an emotional place.
