Alejandra Bacigalupi

(1984, Uruguay)

Photographer and teacher based in Montevideo. She is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Photography, Film, and Video at the Faculty of Arts (UdelaR) and works as a freelance photographer.

Bachelor of Visual Arts - Photography option from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, Udelar (2008). She graduated from the Master's Degree in Photographic Project Development at the Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes in collaboration with LENS School of Visual Arts in Madrid, Spain, and completed a Diploma in Contemporary Photography at Node Center for Curatorial Studies, Berlin (2017).

Among the collective exhibitions are: La vista no basta, Gachi Pietro Gallery, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2024); ESTE ARTE FAIR eighth edition, Punta del Este, Uruguay (2022); Resist and Insist, Diana Saravia Gallery, Montevideo, Uruguay (2022); Los errores del Paraíso, Club de París Erotic Art, Diana Saravia Gallery, Montevideo, Uruguay (2022); Delta, Lens, Madrid, España, (2017).

She has exhibited at festivals such as PHOTOVISA, Russia (2014) and San José Foto, Uruguay (2014). Her work has been published in Dossier, Number 104 edition (2024) and Materia Sensible, Number 11 (2015).

Her work is part of the collection of Ama Amoedo and Diana Saravia Gallery.
